The Espace Culturel Georges Brassens is a space for cultural encounters created in 1982 by the municipality of Léognan and under municipal management. Open almost 365 days a year, it houses a 343-seat performance hall that also serves as a digital and 3D cinema, the municipal library, an exhibition hall, a small meeting room or café-40-seat concert and part of the music school’s classrooms. There is an eclectic cultural program, ranging from theatre to dance, music, circus and young audience shows.
On the cinema side, the ECGB is classified Art and Essay by the National Cinema Centre, as well for adult programming as for that of young audiences. Throughout the year, mediation and awareness-raising activities are conducted around films, whether they are recent, young audiences or heritage.
The public library, located on the ground floor of the ECGB, is a friendly public place where one can work, relax and consult on the spot freely books and magazines and go on the internet.
