Cloître de la cathédrale
Place Pasteur, 64100 Bayonne
- Pyrénées-Atlantiques
- Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The cloister of the Bayonne Cathedral was built between the 13th and 14th centuries. In flamboyant Gothic style, it is one of the most spacious in France. In the past, it occupied several functions: place of prayer, procession, cemetery or public square. The notables and corporations also held meetings there.
An unmissable place to visit, the cloister today presents various remains and offers an unobstructed view of the Cathedral of Sainte-Marie, which it adjoins, as well as a side step in front of the commercial animation of the heart of Bayonne city.
