Musée d'art moderne Richard Anacréon

Born in 1907 to Granville where he dies in 1992, Richard Anacréon gives in his home town in 1980s of 280 works of art and works of 550 old(former) books establishing(constituting) an equivalent set(group), reflexion of the art of his first half of the XXth century s. Famous artists appear in this collection: André Derain, Paul Signac as well as writers as Paul Valéry, Colette, Jean Cocteau, etc. Opened in 1985, the museum which bears its name today presents its permanent collection, enriched by a deposit(warehouse) of paintings(paints) belonging to the National Museum of Modern Art and regular loans resulting(coming) from collections public or deprived on the occasion of temporary exhibitions(exposures).
