Musée de la Libération
Fort du Roule, Montée des Résistants, 50100 Cherbourg-en-Cotentin
The museum of the Libération raises itself(draws itself up) proudly at the top of the mountain of Roule which dominates Cherbourg, in 117 metres above the sea level. It is done up in an old(former) fort of the Second Empire, occupied by the German army in the course of the Second World War. Its resumption by the allied troops, June 25th, 1944, is one of the symbols of the liberation of Cherbourg. © Museum of the Libération
