Come and discover the architecture and history of the church of Saint-Pierre d'Autils by climbing the many steps leading to its bell tower. At the end of the twelfth century, the Romanesque chapel of the village of Saint-Pierre d'Autils was destroyed, some of its capitals and columns were filled in the courtyard (near the current town hall) and some stones were used to build the Priory farm (now the town hall). A new church is built in the early Gothic style. The Church of Saint-Pierre d'Autils is classified Historical Monument (1909, Clocher: classification by order of September 9, 1909) It consists of a nave and a rectangular choir. The nave is lit by lancets and a mullion window. It contains 16th century stained glass windows: a Virgin with Child, Saint Nicolas, the Annunciation, as well as a 19th century tapestry. Master glassmaker Messin Philippe Tisserand made five stained glass windows for the church and installed them in 1991. The bell tower, and in particular its spire, which was removed on this occasion, were restored during a work that lasted from April 2018 to April 2019.
