Guided tour of the SUPER ERRÓ exhibition
SUPER ERRÓ EXHIBITION Born in 1932 in Iceland, Gudmundur Gudmudsson known as ERRÓ has lived and worked in Paris since 1958. An essential artist, co-founder of the Figuration Narrative movement, (close to Pop Art) he exhibits all over the world. During his many travels, ERRÓ collects images (advertisements, news photos, comics, posters, political documents) that are his source of inspiration. He chooses them, assembles them, accumulates them – always with humor, sometimes with anxiety and violence – to create from his cut-up-collages paintings as much to read as to see. Fabulous storyteller and imagier, he often works in series. Complexity of compositions, explosions of colors, audacity of juxtapositions, accu- mulation of pictorial and historical references characterize his work. A “SUPER” exhibition for all audiences with more than sixty works, some monumental.
