Stained glass manufacturing demonstration

The association LA HETRAIE will host a full visit of the church Notre Dame at 14:30\. At 4pm, Didier BOURDEAU - Maître Verrier - will present his craft and the manufacture of stained glass.

Come and take a guided tour of the Church of Our Lady in La Remuée on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:30 pm.
This visit will be led by the volunteers of the association LA HETRAIE. It will also be an opportunity to attend the exhibition of photos taken by Jean-Luc Moyne, professional photographer of Le Havre, during the edition "Pierre en Lumières 2022".
Didier BOURDEAUX - Maître Verrier - will introduce you to his craft and the process of making stained glass windows on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September from 16:00 until 18:00. You can take the opportunity to admire various creations on his part.
Reservations are not mandatory but strongly recommended.

Architectural description Latin cross plan The church has a vessel. The nave is interspersed with a transept. The elevations are punctuated by arched bays and buttresses. The whole is covered by a long slate roof. The bell tower is equipped with sound shades. It is capped with a polygonal arrow in slate. The main structure consists of limestone, ashlar, flint and brick. Period and styles 18th-19th-century Main stages of construction Remains of 13th-century masonry in the nave, are reported in 1845 by Abbé Cochet. Choir of the 16th century. The bell tower between the choir and the nave threatening ruin in 1767 was rebuilt to the west of the nave by the mason Pierre Aubrée de Saint-Romain-de-Colbosc, Michel Dubois mason at Le Havre and Deshayes charpentier of the abbey of Montivilliers. This bell tower was repaired in 1771 by Jean Fleury charpentier at Tancarville. The nave was rebuilt between 1864 and 1866 by the architect Venambre.
