Château Guillaume-le-Conquérant
Place Guillaume le Conquérant, 14700 Falaise
Birthplace of William the Conqueror and cradle of the Anglo-Norman dynasty, the castle of Falaise was one of the main residences of the Duke of Normandy, both strong place and symbol of the princely power. This imposing fortress almost as old as Normandy is one of the last witnesses of the greatness and power of the Norman dukes. In the lower courtyard and in the castle’s main towers, films, re-enactments, furniture and 3D views reveal more than a thousand years of history. Numerous animations, reconstitutions and exhibitions for young and old are offered all year round. A castle to discover or rediscover!
