The castle of the seventeenth century, is the work of Gabriel II of Montgommery, the son of Gabriel I called "the Kingslayer". The castle houses a monumental staircase, two imposing, richly decorated fireplaces as well as French-style ceilings and an Italian-style coffered ceiling, characteristic of Renaissance art. This castle illustrates an ambitious and innovative project of the era of the wars of religion.
