CATERINA BARONE
The life of Simonetta, the famous muse of Botticelli
Walk pop, theatrical and musical, from 8 years
Caterina Barone embodies and tells the life of Simonetta Vespucci, the muse of Sandro Botticelli, an icon whose face everyone knows but not the story: the too short destiny of a Venus of flesh and bone. A multidisciplinary actress of Italian origin, Caterina Barone offers a very personal story of Simonetta’s life, she reconstructs the gaps and makes us travel in Botticelli’s paintings as we open her family album. Here the intimate mingles with the history of the Florence of the Renaissance. Marilyn Monroe of modern times, who would have liked not to be a muse and an image speaks and questions the relationship between beauty, art and power. In a playful and interactive proposal, Caterina Barone makes us travel from French to Italian by language, by music, accompanied by her ukulele, with sung sonnets and even by flavors, making us taste unexpected contributions of Italian cuisine…
