This year, the Department of the Seine-Maritime wished, as part of the Public Reading - Grand cause nationale, to amplify its annual summer operation Read at the beach, by associating with the internationally renowned multidisciplinary artist JR and mobilizing the participatory art project Inside Out Project that he initiated in 2011.
Seinomarin readers, who came with their favorite book, were photographed according to the codes, formats and framings of the Inside Out Project approach, before seeing their portraits exhibited all summer long, in large format, in 7 of the 13 participating communes in Read at the beach.
As the highlight of the operation, the Department adorns the Departmental Archives Tower with these portraits of readers every evening from August 29 to September 18.
