The visit to the Fisheries Museum begins with the breathtaking lookout that offers a breathtaking view of the city and the port. On your way down, you will discover the adventure of the fishmongers who were leaving for long months to fish for cod in the icy waters of Newfoundland. Continuing the descent, you can admire the rich collections of Beaux-Arts, and the regional collections of Norman wardrobes, costumes and jewelry. Finally, the amazing collection on Childhood gathered by Dr.Dufour, will not fail to move you. The museum also has a documentation space, temporary exhibition rooms and an amazing old-fashioned “cabinet of curiosities”. Finally, the locker rooms of the former spinners and the office of the shipowner will be open with a guide on reservation.
