The seaside resort of Ouistreham was born timidly in the middle of the 19th century. The pioneering villas were built by Parisian architects, but very quickly the architect Caennais Gustave Rouvray settled in the resort and built about fifty villas. In the 1930s Rouvray’s former employee, Eugène Duroy, took over and built a new generation of Neonorman villas. Then young architects will also settle in the resort and poduiront more popular villas always preferring the form of the half-timbering.
