At the beginning of the XVIth century s., the cardinal Georges of Amboise, archbishop of Rouen transforms the medieval castle of Gaillon into a real palace, a first construction site(work) of architecture Renaissance in France. Cut up, transformed into prison in the XIXth century s. then passed(spent,crossed) in the private domain, the castle is acquired by the State in 1975\. From that time, one very huge plan of restoration(catering) is under way. © Castle of Gaillon
