In turn, it manufactures paper pulp, then flint stones, a ceramic warehouse and an electric factory, the building now renamed La Factorie - Maison de Poésie de Normandie was established in 1902 near the Eure on the island of the King. This situation gives it a bucolic character, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, conducive to artistic creation. Factorie is indeed the only Maison de Poésie de Normandie and welcomes every year about twenty poets in residence as well as artistic companies. The architectural proportions of the hangar and factory buildings lend themselves easily to the redevelopment of the spaces. The turbines gave way to a workshop. The generators disappeared to open a friendly and welcoming café space; while the hangar became a theatre and functional housing a house for poets and actors in residence.
