At the foot of the ramparts, located partly on one of the bastions of Fort d'Issy and on the former non constructible military zone, a building with futuristic facades has been housing the superior command of the Gendarmerie since 2012.

The Directorate General of the National Gendarmerie, created in 1920 within the Ministry of War, and attached since 2009 to the Ministry of the Interior, was established in 2012 in Issy. A real city in the city, its buildings, inaugurated on February 13, 2012, are located partly on one of the bastions of the Fort, partly on the former military zone not edificandi (not buildable) at the foot of the ramparts. The building with its somewhat futuristic facades houses, among other infrastructures, a documentation centre, conference rooms, a sports complex, etc.
