On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Mont-Valérien Memorial invites you to its latest production Evocation théâtrale de la Résistance. 1942.” Created by the Théâtre des Oiseaux, this theatrical visit will be an opportunity to discover the paths of those who, through their actions, their commitments, marked the year 1942. These evocations will also make it possible to represent life in occupied France, the repressions and persecutions that harden, the Resistance but also the French collaboration with the German occupier.
This theatrical evocation recounts the key moments of 1942 in France during the Occupation. Symbol of the hardening of repression, it is at this period that the tragic events multiply: trial shows, deportations, hostage policy, increasing executions in retaliation of attacks committed against the interests of the occupation troops... Yet it is in this context that the Resistance intensifies. The question of armed struggle is evoked by the staging of parties that oppose the choice of radical action, in particular because of the disastrous consequences on the family environment and the sacrifice of unarmed individuals. The act born of the conflict between people, of their motivation to act in certain circumstances, will be put in a situation with the arguments of each other, but without making a posteriori. The theatrical visit will also highlight the commitment of the youth, notably through the process of the House of Chemistry, while this process of propaganda of the occupier, this «theatrization» of the power and its repressive justice wanted, on the contrary, dirty it.
