Free visit of the King’s Vegetable Garden

The Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Paysage invites you to the Potager du Roi, a place conducive to discovery and wonder from 0 to 100 years old!

On Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18, moments of discovery of the King’s Vegetable Garden that will be completed by times of visit and sensory exploration. The artists, by their presence, will complete this weekend dedicated to sustainability. Garden-school, place of production, experimentation and training since its creation, the Potager du Roi will be in free access from 10am to 6pm. A document of visit in French and English allows to carry out a guided tour of the site at the pace that will suit you, an interactive track game on the national theme of the demonstration - in French only - gives the whole family the opportunity to discover the garden while having fun. A snack bar allows you to enjoy a small restoration on site and to devote a long and profitable time to this garden of 9 hectares in the heart of Versailles, within which the notion of sustainable heritage takes its full meaning.

Created on the site of the Potager du Roi, in Versailles, and with a history linked to horticultural education and agricultural production dating back to the seventeenth century, the École nationale supérieure de paysage was a pioneer in the definition movement of the French school of landscape. With 9 hectares in the heart of Versailles, the Potager du Roi has been a model in the evolution of agricultural and food practices in urban areas since the beginning. A masterpiece of the regular garden art known as «à la française», the site of the École nationale supérieure de paysage was created under Louis XIV to provide the king’s table with fruits and vegetables.
