The Melun Museum of Art and History is housed in a former 17th century mansion, transformed into the 20th century. Museum of Art and History, the Melun Museum presents ensembles that have been little exposed until now. The visitor discovers the ancient and medieval city, with a presentation of ceramics, jewellery and lapidary. The itinerary continues with a visit to the artistic collections: paintings of 19th century history evoking ancient mythology are exhibited. The most emblematic point of the collection is dedicated to the sculptor Henri Chapu (1833-1891).
