It was in 1831 that Jacques-François Adam acquired vast lots in the centre of the Marne loop. He did allot them, but by creating a real small town in the city to which he gives his name: Adamville. At the end of the 19th century, this central district was home to the Saint-Maur-des-Fossés Town Hall. The walk proposed by the CAUE will allow you to (re)discover an old building typical of a city center with the avenue Charles-de-Gaulle, but also the elegant brick houses of the place du Maréchal Juin, the Art Nouveau building on Carnot Avenue or the very original Art Deco house on Rouget-de-l'Isle Street for example.
