In the Riquet islet, the Mathis swimming pool, built in the late 1970s by architect Martin Schulz Van Treck, is now being renovated. The 40-minute visit will allow to see and understand the operation of the technical installations behind the basins and the solutions implemented for the reduction of the energies and the improvement of the comfort of the users.

In the heart of the Riquet island, the Mathis swimming pool was built in the late 1970s by architect Martin Schulz Van Treck. A gymnasium, an entertainment centre and a swimming pool are grouped together in a building whose cascading circulation accentuates its monumentality. The basins are located in the rib cage of the building, lit by glazed facades along the passage Orgues de Flandres. The Piscine is now undergoing a complete renovation of its technical facilities to meet current environmental challenges.
