How does a sorting centre work? What happens to waste? SIGIDURS facilities offer educational tours on the occasion of the Heritage Days to learn all about waste and its treatment and discover the hidden side of your garbage!
Discover behind the scenes at the SIGIDURS incineration and upgrading centre: the Syndicat mixte de collecte, traitement et valorisation des déchets ménagerères de la région de Sarcelles. We manage the household waste of 417,000 inhabitants in the Ile-de-France region. On this site, you will discover how the energy recovery of non-recyclable waste is ensured in a dense urban environment, the different stages of a waste collected from your trash to its treatment, as well as the challenge of waste reduction and efficient sorting.
You can also visit the sorting centre with these different optical reading machines of the types of waste, the overband, the baling, then the Teals' waste collection and finally discover the composting site with the different stages of composting.
