The buildings occupied by France Education International date from the middle of the 18th century and their exterior appearance has remained the same until today.
In 1756, at the initiative of Mme de Pompadour, Louis XV had the Royal Porcelain Factory of Sèvres built.
Until 1876, when she was transferred to the Seine, she managed to cross centuries and political regimes.
From the end of the 19th century until 1940, the premises housed the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Jeunes Filles, which was intended to train female teachers.
In 1945, the Centre international d'études pédagogiques succeeded the Ecole normale. This centre became France Education international in 2020.

Established in 1945 as the International Centre for Educational Studies, France Education International is an institution under the supervision of the Ministry of National Education and Youth. Its missions, which are in line with the Government’s priorities in terms of international cooperation, are based on three lines of activity: -cooperation in the fields of school education, technical and vocational training and higher education; -support for the teaching of French in the world, through the training of trainers and educational frameworks and through language assessment; -international mobility, through exchange programmes for language assistants and teachers and the recognition of foreign diplomas.
