The Impressionist House celebrates its grand opening to the public during the 2022 European Heritage Days. Our guides welcome you every half hour from 14:00 to 18:00 for a unique tour of the house where Claude Monet and his family lived. On the program: discovery of an innovative scenography inspired by the typical interiors of the 19th century, mixing the spirit of Monet’s masterpieces with the history of Argenteuil.
Soak up this place and continue your visit in the bucolic garden often painted by the artist.
In the garden, get to know the Silver Academy and their watercolour and pastel painters who are inspired by the place for their sketches and canvases.

Attracted by the privileged character that Argenteuil offers in the middle of the 19th century, many painters frequent the city and its surroundings. It was in Argenteuil, and partly thanks to Claude Monet, that the impressionist movement experienced its most brilliant period. Arrived in 1871, it was not until 1874 that he lived in this house. Since the renovation of the garden of the balconies and the original colors, the house of Monet has regained its charms of yesteryear.
