The Hôtel de Rothelin-Charolais, located at 101 rue de Grenelle, was built around 1703-1704 for Philippe d'Orléans, Marquis de Rothelin (1678-1715). This building is characteristic of the mansions of the early eighteenth century, between courtyard and garden, which were born in the district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés then in full development. In 1735, the hotel became the property of Louise-Anne de Bourbon-Condé, known as Mademoiselle de Charolais (1695-1758), who undertook many renovations. The Marquis de Rothelin being the first owner and Mademoiselle de Charolais being at the initiative of the redevelopments which practically gave it its present arrangements, the hotel quickly took the name of “Rothelin-Charolais”. It is now occupied by the Ministry of Transformation and Public Service and the Secretary of State, Spokesperson of the Government. Access: M13 Varenne, M12 Solférino
