Individual or group visit with a guide of the church masterpiece of Jacques-Ignace Hitorff. This neo-greek temple offers remarkable paintings including the frieze of saints (the only day of the year where you can admire them from the stands), sculptures by Rude and Carrier-Belleuse, the emaciated lavas of the facade, the fonts of art from the workshops of Callas (faubourg Poissonnière), the stained glass windows of Marechal. The visit of the stands and the terrace are exceptionally open on this occasion.

It is a church built between 1824 and 1844 for an enlarging district that had been marked, the two centuries earlier, by the presence of saint Vincent of Paul. The architect J.I. Hittorff conceived(designed) an original work of a large unit(great unity), where prevail Roman and ancient, Greek forms, and where the inside evokes the Byzantine decorations(sets). The long frieze of the saints of the Christendom painted by H. Flandrin in the nave and the big(great) Christ in glory de F. Picot on the vault of the chorus(choir) establish(constitute) one of the major whole wall painting of the XIXth century. 2011 was marked by the return with enamelled lavas (work of Jollivet) on the facade. They had been removed 150 years earlier, the public opinion being shocked by Eve's nakedness.
