In 2021, the Société d'Histoire de Nanterre presented an exhibition at the Maison de Projet des Groues on the evolution of the famous Folie district. It traced the history of this large Nantes district, located behind the Grande Arche de La Défense, from the 17th century to the present day. After this exhibition, the Folie district is highlighted, again with the support of the Société d'Histoire de Nanterre, through a film directed by Patrick Meynié and Michel Mathys as part of the City’s participatory budget. Twelve thematic chapters are evoked, from the career of La Folie to the prefecture.

At once a library, museum and archives centre, La contemporaine is the only institution in France to collect, preserve and communicate collections on the entire European history of the 20th and 21st centuries. Created in 1918, its purpose since its inception is to gather all the materials and documentary traces of events that can be used to interpret and write the history of our time. Today, it offers more than 4.5 million documents (books, press, leaflets, archives, films, works of art, photographs, posters, press drawings and objects) for consultation. An inter-university institution attached to the Université Paris Nanterre, a member of the ComUE Paris Lumières and the Campus Condorcet, La contemporaine opened a new facility at the entrance to the Nanterre university campus in October 2021\. Open to both the university and the city, it facilitates the meeting of all audiences, students, researchers, high school students, history enthusiasts... and an exceptional heritage collection.
