The gardener’s little stories!

The gardener’s little stories are told at the gardener’s house, a place full of stories and curiosities!

Justine Bontour/CMN

In the heart of the park is the gardener’s house, it is not a gingerbread house and its occupant is not a witch! Accompanied by puppets, small, tender and mischievous characters, she tells the children the stories of the garden.
Info: The gardener’s house, a factory from the early 19th century, was restored by the National Monuments Centre in 2021. After several months of restoration by the companions of duty, the small house of the gardener, traditionally occupied by the chief gardener of the estate has regained all its charm. The Heritage Days are an opportunity to come and discover or rediscover this wonderful work on the occasion of a family animation!

Built at the beginning of the 18th century, the Château de Champs stands out for its modernity, with the appearance of a new art of living and the search for comfort. It welcomes illustrious tenants such as the dukes of the Vallière, Madame de Pompadour, men of letters and Encyclopedists. Acquired by the state in 1934, it became a presidential residence and 20 foreign heads of state stayed there from 1958 to 1969\. The 85-hectare Château Park is labeled Remarkable Garden, with a classic French-inspired garden set set in an English-style landscaped park. The castle reopened on 29 June 2013 after 7 years of closure and a major restoration project of the monument and its collections. Digital tablets in 3 languages and LSF allow you to follow the visit in a fun and enjoyable way.
