Château de Saint-Jean de Beauregard

The Saint-Jean de Beauregard vegetable garden is a masterly interpretation of the art of the flower garden and is one of the favourite destinations for garden lovers around the world. Natural extension of the dovecote and typical of the 17th century vegetable gardens, it has been completely restored according to the original plans preserved in the archives. In this true garden of delights, flowers and fruits play hide-and-seek with rare and forgotten vegetables, between grape and seeding greenhouses, wolf jumps, pond, fruit tree and grape storage room. September is more than ever synonymous with abundance and the opportunity to discover its collections of dahlias, cucurbits and century-old fruit trees.

Restored and maintained with passion by its owners, this family property has retained all the charm and authenticity of its seventeenth century environment: a furnished and still inhabited castle, the largest dovecote of Ile-Louisde France and an amazing flower garden unique for its plant diversity and labeled Remarkable Garden. Every year, the European Heritage Days allow visitors to discover a little-known aspect of the castle with the owners. The guided tours of the interior of the castle will be an opportunity to fall under the charm of its remarkably preserved decoration and the floral settings realized with the flowers of the garden. Finally, the flowered vegetable garden will be revealed in all its fall generosity with its collections of rare vegetables, dahlias and centenary fruit trees.
