The engraving

Saving cutting is mainly done on wood of thread or end wood but also on linoleum (lino). His tools are knives, gouges and chisels, in addition to the end wood which being harder allows a finer work. It is a question of digging the parts that will have to remain white. This mode of engraving is of the impression of the relief, as in typography. The soft cut, uses the principle of hollow reproduction and is generally practiced on metal (copper, steel, brass, zinc), more rarely on plexiglass. It’s the most complicated reproductive technique.
