Exhibition on the entrance gates of the park, President Kennedy Square. Unpublished photographs from an album preserved by the Falret Work. Vanves chose mental health as the theme of the "great cause of Vanvéeenne 2022", a year that also marks the bicentenary of the opening, in September 1822, of the Maison de Santé de Vanves. Founded at the present site of Pic Park by two alienist doctors with innovative methods at the time, Félix Voisin and Jean-Pierre Falret, this establishment had a European reputation in the 19th century. Closed in 1932, it was then acquired by the City of Vanves to be redeveloped into a municipal park open to the public.

Open to the public since 1933, the park alone sums up several centuries of the history of Vanves. In the 16th century, Cardinal Duprat, chancellor of Francis I, already owned an estate on this site. In the 17th century, a French garden surrounding a small castle was built for the Duchess of Mortemart. The property was acquired in 1822 by the alienist doctors Voisin and Falbret, who founded there a health house renowned for its very innovative therapeutic methods. The famous cartoonist Grandville died there in 1847.
