Considered by his contemporaries as the eighth wonder of the world, Giovanni Dondi’s astrarium is a mythical object of watchmaking and astronomy of the 14th century. The implementation of this replica invites us to relive the emotion of Dondi’s contemporaries and to explore the astronomical knowledge of this period.

The permanent exhibition of the Museum of Arts and Crafts is organized into seven thematic collections, which themselves are subdivided into four chronological periods (before 1750, 1750-1850, 1850-1950, after 1950): scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, mechanical and transport. Complementary presentations emphasize particular points: the laboratory of Lavoisier, the theatre of automata. In the old church is presented, among other things, the experience of the rotation of the earth by means of the pendulum of Leon Foucault.
