A. Luis

By recording the music of the great Italian virtuoso Giuseppe Tartini, David Plantier and Annabelle Luis have the idea of reviving the historical duo formed at the time by Tartini and his cellist friend, Antonio Vandini. This unexpected duo, which fascinates with the purity and fullness of the two stringed instruments, aims to explore the richness of the music of the Paduan virtuoso and his disciples, but also to revisit the greatest names in the history of baroque music. The program of this 100-year concert reflects this intense creative period. Its title is “Continuo Addio!” , in the form of a wink, refers to the possibility, however foreseen by the composers of the time, but almost ignored today, of interpreting their music without continuous bass, this being usually performed on a harmonic instrument like the harpsichord, the organ or the theorbo.

It was during a survey carried out before the work related to the transformation of the house into a conservatory, in the spring of 2004, that the painted beams of the Maison dite de Richelieu appeared. One discovers, under the plaster, a ceiling "in the French style" dating from the first decades of the seventeenth century, date of construction of the house. This exceptional discovery in the vicinity of Paris resulted in the classification of the joists, but also of the roof and facades. This house, baptized in the Chroniques of the eighteenth century, "Maison des oubliettes", would have been built thanks to the money of the Cardinal de Richelieu, who would have used it for "low works"...
