On four levels, the museum explores the plurality of the Arab world in terms of populations, languages, confessions and especially cultural traditions. The opportunity to walk through the five themes that mark the route: the emergence of the Arab identity in the first millennium BC; the relationship to the sacred from antiquity to the three Abrahamic monotheisms; the city as a reflection of Muslim society; expressions of beauty; relationship to the body and hospitality. The exhibition focuses on a dialogue between works and objects rarely brought into view, coming from ancient and medieval archaeology, art and crafts, modern and contemporary creation.
