Auguste Herbin, Geneviève Claisse and Jean Dewasne, geometric abstract artists from the North and passionate about the exact sciences, of which the Matisse Museum has an important collection, used the circle as a recurring element of composition. The work of these artists resonates with the photographs taken by French astronaut Thomas Pesquet during his leisure time aboard the International Space Station (ISS). This exhibition brings together these two visions: that of the artist who is inspired by science and that of the scientist who translates his fascination with space through photography.
