The former Hôtel-Dieu de Saint-Riquier opens its doors for heritage days, during the guided tour you will discover its 18th century baroque chapel dedicated to Saint Nicolas.You can admire the wood sculptures of Baron Pfaffenhoffen. The sacristy has kept its chapier whose function will be explained to you, it is adorned with many clothes and priestly objects: chasubles, stole, embroidered chapes. The charming adjacent cloister opens onto rooms that will allow you to discover the life of sisters and residents once. One of these rooms offers the reconstruction of a sick room, another presents the apothecary with a magnificent collection of pharmacy pots and ancient medical equipment. In the last rooms you will discover many furniture and objects that will allow you to imagine the life of the place once. In the cloister garden is a newly restored bucket pump.
For the heritage days, a basketry workshop will complete your discoveries with the description of the different stages of the cultivation of wicker to the manufacture of objects that will be done before your eyes.
An apothecary animation will allow you to discover the material used by the sisters for the manufacture of drugs and why not to practice weighing the components of drugs and making pills as before. This workshop is also open to children.
