City created in the XXIIth century around a residence of the count de Hainaut, Quesnoy is reinforced from 1533 till 1547 by Charles the Fifth. Taken by the French people in 1654, Vauban makes a regular fortified town in eight bastions composed in the middle of huge plans of water there. A work was moved forward, the work with horns Fauroeulx, will supplement the set(group) from 1739\. The surrounding wall(speaker) and its works redeveloped in the XIXth century, reached us undamaged, in a preserved natural executive(frame).
