Among the ancient buildings erected in the forest of Compiègne, it is worth mentioning the small chapel called Saint-Corneille, very likely dependency of the famous abbey of Saint-Corneille, whose important remains of the cloister still remain in the town of Compiègne. This small chapel, unfortunately mutilated, still has some interesting parts. It consists of a room finished, on one of the narrow faces, by a polygonal bedside. Dating from the 13th century, the building retains only the walls, the main door, the rings that divided the columns leaning against the exterior walls and some of the capitals of these columns.
