In 2021, Valenciennes Métropole presented the exhibition "L'Escaut dans le rétro" on the site of the marina, along the Quai des Mines. The exhibition "Valenciennes Métropole au fil de l'eau" is part of the continuity of this first exhibition by highlighting the other waterways of the territory: the Rhônelle, the Aunelle or the Hogneau. Two photographers from the MJC Saint-Saulve photo club worked from 14 old postcards depicting different sites along these rivers. They worked hard to find these places. The exhibition puts landscapes in perspective before/after, with sometimes surprising evolutions.
