What materials did prehistoric men use to build their homes and organize their daily lives? How did they relate to their immediate environment? The exhibition "En matières de Préhistoire" highlights the discoveries and major sites of Hauts-de-France, excavated over the past 10 years.

The archaeological museum of the Oise is rich in the furniture discovered during 30 years by researches(searches) on the Gallo-Roman town(conglomeration) of Vendeuil-Caply (objects of the everyday life, sculptures, wall paintings(paints)). The Centre of Preservation and of Study, structure dependent on the regional Service(Department) of archaeology, includes reserves for the archaeological furniture, working zone on objects, Documentation Centre. Associated with the museum, he allows the mutualisation of ways(means) and of skills for preservation, study, accessibility to the researchers, the scientific promotion(valuation) of these furnitures coming from operations of preventive archaeology.
