Discovery of the work of the earth in a ceramic factory of 1836 still in activity.
A manufacture of 1836 still in operation in St Samson la Poterie. From terracotta to raw earth.
At the edge of Oise and Normandy, in the Pays de Bray, the fireplaces of the terracotta factory founded in 1836 are the mark of a ceramic activity that has never ceased since its creation.
Located on a vein of clay of the Pays de Bray it has contributed to this activity throughout the nineteenth century and continues today its way thanks to the passionate initiative of the two buyers Guillaume and Thomas Alglave who fell under the spell in 2008.
A Living Heritage Company, inscribed on the UNESCO List of Rare Art Crafts in France, the manufacture welcomes visitors to discover ancestral craftsmanship that continues and adapts surprisingly to our modernity.
The visit will show the wealth of know-how used as well as the interest of raw earth material that can be declined in many ways to meet the challenges of the modern world.
