The Dunkirk Sword Dance is a traditional dance recreated in 1990. It is listed in the French Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory and is part of a broader European context of sword dances. It is danced by a group of men dressed in white and blue and each armed with a sword. Fifes and drums accompany the dancers playing Dunkirk or Flemish tunes.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the association Dunkerquoise In De Kring in partnership with the LAAC proposes to introduce children from 10 years old to this tradition by learning and the representation of some figures in opening of their dance which will be performed twice in the garden of the museum.
