The land of Thiérache is rich in its past. Over the centuries, it has preserved many remains that surprise and challenge us. The fortifications extend from the period of the feudal motte to the pleasure castles through our fortified churches. Buried in the earth, some fortifications are difficult to identify. Plans, prints and photographs help us in our research. The conference, illustrated with a slideshow, presents all these aspects that mark our strong identity.
