First installed(settled) in the Hotel of Feuillants, today Hotel of the Department, archives were transferred Street Gaulthier de Rumilly. It is in 1981 when the General Council acquires a part(party) of the old(former) monastery of Visitandines, builds between 1830 and 1856 by the architect Herbault, to instal(settle) there, after two years works and arrangement(development), Departmental archives. The preservation of archives serves numerous interests: answer needs for the administration, justify rights and duties of persons and institutions, public or private, safeguard the written and iconographic memory of the department.
