The fortified castle of Fleckenstein, an emblematic giant of the Northern Vosges, stands as a sentinel on the defensive line that protected the imperial palaces of the Hohenstaufen of Haguenau and Kaiserslautern. With its defensive architecture and exemplary water management, the fortress was home to the family line until 1680\.
