The Memorial on a free visit
During this visit, go to meet the General by discovering the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions. Watch his different cars, climb to the Cross of Lorraine.
Far beyond a traditional presentation of the Man of 18 June or the first President of the Fifth Republic, the Memorial is a real rendezvous with the history of the twentieth century and a meeting with Charles de Gaulle in his intimacy.
Thought of as the base of the Cross of Lorraine, the building inscribes both the character of Charles de Gaulle at the heart of modernity and in the landscapes of Colombey-les-Deux-Églises that he particularly loved.
It was also in this commune that he chose in 1934 to settle as a family and that he made history, receiving in his family home the chancellor Konrad Adenauer in September 1958.
His family home, the Boisserie, has been open to the public for several decades. However, Colombey-les-Deux-Églises lacked a place to understand the character.
The Charles de Gaulle Memorial, in fulfilling this role, thus completes a memory trail dedicated to the most illustrious of the French.
