Free visit of a church with beautiful 14th century decorations

Discover a church, rebuilt in 1320, and its 14th-century frescoes which, in 1718, had undoubtedly been covered with plaster.

The 703 archives attest to the presence on this site of a basilica dedicated to Notre-Dame, destroyed in 1287 (of which only the bell tower called the «Green Tower» survived: it served as a guard tower, chapel and ossuary before being demolished in the early 19th century). The second church was consecrated in 1347\. The vaulted choir, a vaulted sacristy with a ribbed arch, a vessel with three naves, the bell tower and a sculpted portal remain from this period. In the 19th century the chapel and the southern sacristy were added.
The interior decoration has many remarkable elements: medieval wall paintings, 14th century frescoes, polychrome wooden statues of 1480, a painting of 1616, an organ restored in 2006\.
