Archives départementales de la Marne - Centre de Reims
44 avenue de l'Yser, 51100 Reims
Centre annexes archives of the Marne, installed(settled) in a new building(ship) for the preservation of the archives of the Reims institutions of Ancien Régime, archives of both world wars, of private archives and contemporary archives. The Parisian Hamonic firm of architects and Masson knew how to use the natural slope of the ground to conceive(design) a functional and bright building(ship), in geometric volumes and in resolutely contemporary speed(look). Indoors, several spaces allow to welcome the public: reading rooms, exhibition halls, lecture rooms, rooms of pedagogic workshops(studios). Documents are kept(preserved) in a tower of four levels.
