Guided tour of the exhibition: «200 years, what history!»
Take a guided tour of the “200 Years, What a Story” exhibit to learn all about the museum’s bicentennial.
On the occasion of the bicentenary of its foundation (1822-2022), the Departmental Museum of Ancient and Contemporary Art (MUDAAC) designed an exhibition whose purpose is to question the public about the role of museums, from yesterday to today.
What’s the point of a museum? This question refers to the various missions that these institutions have given themselves over time: to preserve the elements of heritage for future generations, of course, but also to give to contemplate, to understand, to make art dialogue with other forms of artistic expression, etc.
In addition, the collections presented, most of which come from reserves, will illustrate the concepts of conservation, education and science, but also those of territory, modernity and contemplation.
Original in form and content, this exhibition has many surprises in store for you and will appeal to your eyes, your ears, your sense of observation and your humour!
