Guided tour of a church, its Way of the Cross and a baptistery
Enjoy a guided tour offered by the Tourist Office, in partnership with the Friends of Priolet.
Come and discover the history of the church of Xertigny, built at the place where the ball of wool of Sainte Walburge would have ended his mad race after having escaped from his hands, it is a must-see point of the Xertinian heritage to visit. After having been burned down during the battle of Xertigny on June 18, 1940, it was rebuilt and now features stained glass windows signed Gabriel Loire, master glassmaker of Chartres, which are worth a visit.
The guide, passionate about local history, will also make you discover the Way of the Cross painted on stone and the baptistery of the same artist, sculptor at these hours, as well as the statue of Saint Walburge saved from the fire.
Meet Saturday 17 September at 10am and Sunday 18 September at 4pm in front of the church.
